BLACK LOCUST IS EVERYWHERE IN THE NORTHWEST
It is hard and it is brittle, and I have found several felled trees over two feet in diameter. So I have a pair of backs and sides on the bench, as well as several sets of fingerboards and bridges on completed guitars. It gives a very high tap tone and a shrill scratch tone, and I just wish I could find some with a bodacious woodgrain.
